“Don’t be a hard rock when you really are a gem…”

The past few weekends have been pretty busy so I promised myself the next weekend I had free, I would do absolutely NOTHING. Don’t get me wrong, busy is good. We like busy. I took a trip to Mexico as an early birthday gift to myself, went to a karaoke lounge the day of my birthday, and went to Atlantic City the weekend after my birthday. As you can see its been pretty non-stop on top of being a full-time employee and part-time student. So this lazy day was much needed.

“Don’t be a hard rock when you really are a gem, baby girl…” ~ Lauren Hill

On this lazy day, I watched a few YouTube videos of recent Lauren Hill live performances. I must say, girlfriend ain’t never lost it! (Forgive my terrible English) Her performances of songs like “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and “Ready or Not” are giving me life and chills. If there was ever a time we needed to hear her music, the time would be now. Her lyrics are as relevant today as when they were first written.

We are living in a time when women think the best thing they can offer to this world comes from between their legs or the way to attract a man, career, followers is a larger behind. A country that would rather see an ex- porn star as First Lady over one that has clothed herself with style and grace. And we can’t forget about the men. Those that think their manhood lies in the number of women they can get in bed, unable to be a man because they lacked a real example of a man in their life. Ms. Hill spoke to all of those issues and more. We need more like her! Such talent and natural beauty! Check out this video and see if you don’t agree with me!
